The Global Green Local Food Story
This year Global Green is demonstrating a commons and whole systems approach to food at the Electric Picnic. On hand to tell this amazing story of food locally and globally we will have the activists and campaigners working for food sovereignty globally, as well as the local food activists and food entrepreneurs helping us to appreciate what Ireland has to offer. Discussing the global/ local food story is Fergal Anderson a farmer in East Galway who formerly worked with Via Campesina the international peasants movement, Claire O’Conner of the Irish Organic Farmers Growers Association and Mana Organics, Dr Oliver Moore, the food and agriculture correspondent with the Irish Examiner, Eliza Ward the young food entrepreneur with Country Choice on Tour and coordinator of the food being offered at Global Green, and Nancy Serrano an Irish activist who has been working on community gardens with indigenous communities in Mexico.
